Your Life. Your Self Care.

Life can throw unexpected punches at times. Life can be challenging at the best of times, regardless of health status, age or background. In the midst of all the choas that life can bring, as humans we can lose ourselves, inparticularly emotionally. I truly believe that life is too short to not indulge, care and appreciate yourself. Why wait for life to throw an unexpected punch to realise that self care is key to knowing or appreciating your self worth and life. What is self care though? Self care is provided by you, for you. It's about nuturing your own personal needs, realising when to take a break and realising the activites that help relax you. Self care, for me, is all about treating yourself how you treat others. We all have a habit of treating people better than we treat ourselves. It's amazing, that as humans we have so much compassion to give to us others yet we never give this compassion and love to ourselves? BUT... it is essential that we treat ourselves kindly, embrace flaws how you would somebody else's and most importantly, learn to love ourselves. If we don't, how can we give all these things to other people? Here are a few tips to help your self care: 1. OVERTHINKING IS A NO. It's natural to overthink, but in reality, it just makes you feel more anxious and pressured. I really do live by the motto 'one day at a time'. As humans, we think we have all the answers to life, but the truth is we don't. It is a scary prospect that no one exactly knows what's going to happen in life, but we can learn how to deal with this by just living through the motions of life! 2. ASK FOR HELP. If you need help, ask for it. I used to think that asking for a help was a bad thing. It really isn't. Alot of people think that asking for help is showing weakness, but it is not. It's showing strength. No one has it all under control, and people can help lessen burdens or worries. Asking for help is a good thing as people then tend to realise how many people support, love and care for them. 3. YOU DO NOT NEED VALIDATION FROM OTHERS. Constantly seeking validation from our peers can have negative effects on our self esteem. We sometimes think that in order to feel good we need someone to tell us we LOOK good, but this is not the case. The only validation anyone should seek is from themselves. Dress how you want, wear whatever make up you want! 4. KNOW YOUR STRENGTHS. When we get asked to point out our weaknesses, we can list them easily. But when we get asked to point out our strengths, can we do the same? Let's swap this round! Realise your strengths. It is not being arrogant, it's recognising what you're good at and what you enjoy doing! That's not a bad thing. It improves self esteem and confidence! I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog. At the end of the day, we only have one life to live and I believe we all should live it at every given opportunity. Do all the things you want to do! No one can do them for you. Don't be afraid to shine, be bold and be YOU! Live your authentic self! All my love, Nubes xÂ
